Introduction
Montana Job Source (MJS) provides job seekers with a large, diverse
pool of job opportunities in the State of Montana. You can search for
employment from Job Title to Location.
Job Order Types
State of Montana: Job vacancies with the State of Montana.
To apply, follow the instructions on the job posting.All
postings will require a State of Montana application. You can download an
application or pick one up at any Job Service Center in Montana.
Searching for Employment Opportunities
From the MJS Job Service Main Page, select Search for Employment. You will
have several ways to search for jobs available to you. This will enable you
to customize your search to retrieve job openings that are of interest to you.
Key Word in Job Title: allows you to search for job titles that
contain a key word or partial word. For example, if you are looking for
information systems specialists openings, you can type in the word "information"
and get all of the job titles that contain the word information in them.
If you select the Search for Key Word in Job Description? check box, the search will also return job postings that contain the
key word in the job description.
Job Category: allows you to search by using a set of
predefined Job Categories. Each job listed in MJS is connected to a
Job Category.
Job Title: allows you to search for an opening by a Job
Title.
Note: You may only search by either a key word,
a job category or a job title. When one of these options
is selected, the other two will be cleared.
Job Type: allows you to look for employment opportunities
of a particular job order type as described above.
Job Service: allows you to look for employment opportunities
listed with a particular Job Service Center
Region: allows you to look for employment opportunities
within a Region of Montana. This search encompasses all the Cities
and Job Service Centers within the region. A map is displayed to
help you to choose a region within the State of Montana.
Location (City): allows you to look for employment
opportunities in a specific City within the State of Montana.
Note: You may only choose a job service center,
a region or a city. When one of these options is selected,
the other two will be cleared. To search for work statewide,
please leave these categories blank.
Salary: allows you to limit the number of jobs you retrieve
by indicating a minimum salary amount you would accept.
If your search results are not adequate, you may select the clear the screen
button and choose new selection criteria.
Job Order Type: allows you to inquire on a particular Job
Order Type. Please refer to the Job Order Type description listed above.
Since Post Date: allows you to inquire on a particular Job
that has been entered on or after the date entered.
Full-Time or Part-Time Employment: allows you to inquire on a particular job
based on the length of employment you require.
You may choose part time or full time
If your search results are not adequate, you may select the "Clear the Screen" button
and choose new selection criteria.
